Gosling Sports Park purchases Legend software and anticipates full return on investment within 12 months
Legend Club Management Systems, the supplier of leading leisure management software for public, private and educational leisure facilities across the UK, has been chosen by Gosling Sports Park to provide its 50 acre site with a comprehensive leisure management system, replacing a system previously provided by Gladstone and providing a full return on investment within 12 months.
Gosling opted to change software supplier as they wanted a system which incorporated invoicing and membership reporting as part of its core functionality. This included essential functions that were needed to supplement the core system, such as invoicing and membership reporting. For instance, the previous software system was unable to readily show Gosling the precise number of current members.
A registered charity, Gosling Sports Park is a 50 acre Sports and Leisure Park, based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, which employs approximately 200 staff – 50 of which will be direct users of the Legend software – and offers a diverse range of sports and leisure facilities including a fitness suite, spa, tennis courts and a ski and board centre.
On implementation, Gosling will be able to automate cashflow calculations and remove the administrative burden of generating monthly financial reports – a process that currently takes the back-office staff as much as a week to complete each month – while also providing wider member services, such as online class booking and self-service kiosks. The greater visibility of member data will allow for improved fee collection and debt management and will even enable personalised marketing campaigns to be automatically executed, based upon the individual member’s profile of gym usage.

As a result of the removal of extra investment, and the additional operational benefits the software will provide, we are anticipating a full return on investment within 12 months.”

For instance, we will now be able to construct detailed reports on our finances, including our debts, in an instant – as opposed to having to dedicate as much as a week to generating each of our monthly reports. We will also be able to set targets for our individual staff members’ performance and then monitor their progress, while also providing additional services to our members so as to make their use of our facilities easier and simpler. All of this, with no need for additional investment in extra modules or configuration!”
