Thistle Hotels Teams Up With Legend UK ~ September 2005

The Otium clubs are run in partnership with 3D Leisure and the Legend system will replace the assortment of existing IT systems across the 13 Otium Health and Fitness sites with benefits to both Thistle and 3D Leisure. The rollout of Legend’s solution is expected to begin right away with the project to be completed by November of this year. Paul Rogers, Project Manager for the Otium rollout, comments: “The Thistle Hotels Health Club portfolio is vastly spread across the UK and in the past, every club has been solely responsible for managing their own membership data. In partnership with 3D we were keen to bring the clubs in line using the same system to implement consistency and increase professionalism across the brand. Legend’s central solution also supports 3D Leisure better, allowing management to tap into the membership system and assess the business across the group on a daily basis.” As part of the implementation, Legend will also be installing BACSTEL-IP, the internet based direct debit system, which will provide Otium with an integrated electronic collection and advice system. One monthly collection will be run across the group, and will more than halve the time taken to carry out the procedure. Paul Rogers continues: “We were extremely impressed by Legend’s professionalism as a company along with the product offering. One of the key selling points for us was a centralised solution and integrated collection method. Legend will increase the success rate of collections across the group and considerably reduce the time required for the monthly DD run. This will give us more opportunity to react to those collections that are returned and ultimately will have a significant impact on our bottom line.” Steve Webber, Legend UK Sales Director says: “Legend is an ideal membership management system for hotel sites as the centralised solution brings together every club’s membership database regardless of their geographical location.
