Legend Club Management Systems, the provider of a leading system for local authority
leisure centres and private health clubs, has entered the world of big-time football
after securing a contract with Sheffield United.
The Legend system has been installed in three sites operated by Sheffield United.
Two of these – the Impact Club and the Crookes Club, provide a range of fitness
and sporting facilities to particular areas of the city. The third site is the Sheffield
United Academy, one of the leading football academies in the country, which makes its indoor
and outdoor pitches and other facilities available for bookings.
The world famous Blades brand, the brand name of Sheffield United, is behind the
operation of first-class health club facilities in keeping with the Blades’ strategy
of being a leading Leisure, Services and Property company.
Andrew Johns, Regional Sales Manager (North) at Sheffield United, says: “We chose
Legend because of its ease of use and its wide-ranging functionality for managing
our health clubs and Academy. The staff at Legend were extremely adaptable in setting
up the system for our needs, and the system has now been in use since the beginning
of March. The integrated functionality has meant that we have been able to improve
the efficiency of our service to our clients, and we look forward to installing the
system at other sites in the future.”
“A tremendous benefit has been the low cost of handling all aspects of direct debits.
We have been very pleased that we have been able to use this functionality for our
Bramall Lane season tickets, something we did not offer in the past,” he added.
Sean Maguire, Managing Director of Legend, says: “We are delighted that Sheffield
United is pleased with our product and the benefits of using the latest technology
in their facilities. The Legend system is known for delivering excellent cost savings
and robust control, especially in areas such as the management of direct debits.”
“We are extremely proud to be associated with the Blades and are very conscious of
history – Sheffield is where the world’s first football club was formed and Bramall
Lane is one of the oldest sports grounds in the country, with an illustrious history,
having hosted an FA Cup final and a test match. It is intriguing that the club’s
Hall of Fame, featuring players who have given excellent service to the club over
an extended period, is called ‘Legends of the Lane’. We will ensure that our company
name remains appropriate by continuing to provide excellent service,” he continued.
